Nebraska security deposit return deadline calculator
In Nebraska, the landlord has 14 days to return your security deposit or send an itemized list of deductions (Neb. Rev. Stat. 76-1416). Enter your move-out date to get the exact date.
Nebraska: deposit (or itemized deductions) due within 14 days.
Add your move-out date to see the deadline.
- Counted from the date the tenancy ends, not from move-out or a forwarding address. Give the landlord a mailing address; without one, they mail the balance and itemized list to your last known address.
- If the landlord doesn't comply, you can recover the deposit plus court costs and attorney's fees; if the failure was willful and not in good faith, also one month's rent or twice the deposit, whichever is less.
